Patient Preference & Experience

Patient Preference & Experience

Problem Statement

Patient preferences are not clearly understood and prioritized by SC developers in order to identify key perceptions and differences regarding optimal SC product design attributes. Publicly available quantitative data is insufficient and opinions are ineffective and difficult to communicate. SC developers need an indication-specific body of evidence to help guide design decisions during SC product development.

Desired Future State

Industry follows comparable and standardized patient-centric design methodologies to achieve improved product design and solutions and helps HCP and patients understand and easily communicate their dosing options so that advantages, disadvantages, and trade-offs of each are universally accepted and understood, ultimately leading to improved patient experience and adherence.

Biggest Accomplishments in 2023

business-hands
    • Completed comprehensive draft of manuscript, summarizing the patient treatment journey starting at diagnosis, including consideration of patient characteristics and SC product design attributes to inform SC drug delivery design and development.  The manuscript also offers future perspectives to fill data gaps to advance patient-centric SC drug delivery.
    • Initiated conversations around the next priorities, gaining agreement to prioritize additional patient research.

Impact of 2023 Tactics: Patient Preference & Experience Sub-Team

In 2023, the patient preference and experience (PP/PE) team prioritized understanding the patient journey in order to identify key pain points to be addressed in the SC product design and development process. Insights from this study were used to draft a detailed manuscript and initiate discussion on next steps to further this research.
